If you could have lunch with anyone from the past or present, who would it be and why?
Princess Diana – I have always been fascinated by her beauty, poise and grace.
How do you celebrate the arrival of spring?
I love to decorate my house, lightening things up after the long, dark winter. I put fresh sheets on all the beds, put out new pillows and spruce up the front porch and back patio.
What lesson have you learned from a random stranger?
Be kind. It’s a lesson that we’re taught by parents and teacher our entire lives, but seeing it reflected in the eyes of a stranger, really drives the point home of how important it is to be kind to one another.
You’ve been given a million dollars (tax-free!) but you have to give 50% of it away…who or what would you give it to and why?
I serve on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit, The Breastfeeding Resource Center, so I would give half my million to them. They are a unique service provider, helping any mom, regardless of income, breastfeed her baby if she wants to. I’ve been a supporter for years and it would be heart-warming to be able to give so much.
What is one thing that gets easier as you get older?
Just about everything – because I find that I care less and less about insignificant things. It’s funny how our perspective changes as we age. Things that I thought were so difficult, I now wish I hadn’t invested so much energy in.
