We are so excited to be adding a few new ambassadors to our amazing lineup! This week we’re introducing Maria Lianos-Carbone of A Mother World. Maria blogs about her favorite things in life: food, fashion, family and travel. I think we can all agree, these are the things that make life worth living!
In order to get to know her better, we asked Maria a few questions:
What trip are you most anticipating in the next year and why?
I just took an epic multi-generational trip to Greece this past summer. I’m not sure where we’re heading next, but I’m looking at a short getaway with my husband this winter.
What is your best tip for other moms who balance parenting with work?
Organize as much as you can on the weekend so that the week runs smoothly. I still make handwritten lists, but also use phone apps and calendars to keep myself organized with work, school and my boys’ hockey schedules! For example, make a big batch of soup on Sunday to have for the week; always cook double so you can have leftovers.
What is one accomplishment in the past year you are most proud of?
I have been quietly writing my first book, with plans of having it published! I’ve also been beyond thrilled to have gone on several press trips this past year.
Tell us a story about the kindness of a stranger that impacted your day.
While it may not seem like a big deal, I was floored when a stranger paid for my coffee in the drive-through. It made my day and reminded me to pay it forward.
How do you celebrate the arrival of Fall?
You know Fall is approaching when my husband and I head to the farm; we buy bushels of tomatoes to make tomato sauce. The real kick-off for Fall is when we spend the day at the orchard picking apples. This year, I’ll likely jar some apple filling for the winter months. And, I love decorating the front porch of our home with Fall decor.
What is one thing that gets easier as you get older?
As you get older, it’s easier to say “no” to people, invitations and obligations. There was a time when I over-extended myself, and it only left me feeling worn down. With such a hectic schedule, family time is too precious.
